Summer Stillness

Beneath the stillness of lanquid summer days lies a swarm of busy-ness.
Our friend and renowned artist of nature, Mark Eberhard, captured the exquisite picture above, in our wetlands a few weeks ago. This stately Buttonbush is besieged with attention from caterpillars, butterflies, and bees, unannounced to glance from afar, reinforcing that things are not always as they seem.
Summertime wildflowers present themselves for moments, bringing grace to intense heat. Hibiscus, Ironweed, and Black-eyed Susans below adorn the skirts of summer.
Summer stillness calls for light meals. Pastured eggs make delicious omelettes. Below on the right, a 7-egg omelette is accompanied by Bob's heirloom tomatoes and baked pasta & ratatouille (eggplant, zuchinni, sweet peppers, onions, tomatoes, garlic, fresh basil).
We now offer Vietnamese as well as Moroccan sliders. Susan's restless mind always conceives of variations. The Vietnamese slider features lemongrass, Siraracha hot sauce, anchovy fish sauce, soy sauce, ginger and other. It is truly delicious, especially accented with her homemade mayonnaise of same spices. It is so good, it is best eaten by the spoonful.
In stillness.
